Greetings Members!

Please join us on Thursday, October 28th, 2021, while Scottsdale Police Department Analysts Mike Winslow and Brittany Willis share two fascinating case studies with us.

Murder in America's Most Livable City - The City of Scottsdale, dubbed "Most Livable City," is often in the talks for being one of the safest cities in America, averaging approximately four homicides a year. While homicides are not something that is common for this agency, the few they do have tend to be unique and notable. This presentation will look at four separate homicides that plagued Scottsdale, AZ and the analysts' techniques utilized to exact justice.

Meeting Your Offender in Court: The Case of the 23 Caliber Burglar - During one hot Arizona summer, a prolific residential burglar pillaged throughout the greater Phoenix area. Dubbing himself "The Pink Panther", this serial offender had a particular set of skills that made him somewhat averagely successful at breaking into homes. His unique MO of using a 23 caliber handgun during his crimes earned him a dangerous reputation. The entire case will be reviewed from the initial series identification to the jury verdict.

Both case studies will incorporate essential skills that all analysts should be comfortable with. Key highlights include:

  • Identifying/tracking unique offender MO
  • Analyst products to support ongoing investigations
  • Cell phone analysis and mapping
  • Google Data
  • Case preparation for the DA's Office
  • Courtroom testimony
